Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping healthcare delivery
by improving diagnostic accuracy, supporting treatment
optimisation, and enhancing operational efficiency. This
study adopts a scoping review of literature published
between 2020 and 2025 to examine key AI applications,
including machine learning for diagnostics, natural
language processing for patient data management, and
predictive analytics for resource allocation. The review
highlights significant opportunities such as personalised
medicine, telemedicine, and remote monitoring, while also
identifying critical challenges including ethical dilemmas,
data privacy risks, and implementation barriers. Findings
suggest that robust regulatory frameworks, clinician
training, and interdisciplinary collaboration are essential
to ensure equitable and effective integration of AI into
healthcare systems.
